Paulo Bento, former coach of the Korean national soccer team, said that coaching Korea at the World Cup in Qatar was “one of the most beautiful experiences of my life.”
The International Football Federation (FIFA) 메이저놀이터 shared the last farewell message left by coach Bento, who left Korea on the 16th, through the official website.
In the content released by FIFA, Bento expressed his feelings at the end of the World Cup, saying, “Coaching Korea at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar is one of the most beautiful experiences of my life.”
He then said of the four years he spent with the Korean national team, “I thank the people of Korea for their support,” adding, “I am especially grateful for the professionalism, attitude and attitude shown by the players. The players gave me the opportunity to have the most beautiful experience in my life that I will never forget.”
He continued, “Personally, I’m sorry I can’t say thank you for all the respect, affection, and support you’ve shown me during this amazing experience.”
After Bento took office on August 23, right after the 2018 World Cup in Russia, he led the Korean national team for 4 years and 4 months, setting a new record for the longest serving coach of the national team in a single term.
He recorded 35 wins, 13 draws and 9 losses in 57 matches over the course of four years. Under coach Bento, Korea succeeded in advancing to the round of 16 at the away World Cup for the second time since the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
Coach Bento brought tears to his eyes as he greeted his coaches and fans when he left the country on the 13th.
Afterwards, he left an affectionate greeting through the Korea Football Association, saying, “Korea will always be a part of my life, and our players will always be in my heart forever.”
On the other hand, coach Bento is mentioned as the next coach of the Polish and Ghana national teams after leaving the Korean national team, and is recognized for his tactical ability in the World Cup.
