Coach Lee Mi-sun joined the team again.
Lee Mi-sun, coach of Yongin Samsung Life Insurance, is one of the representative figures of Samsung Life Insurance. From the 1997-1998 season to the 2015-2016 season, he only played for Samsung Life Insurance. Even after his retirement, he continued to accompany Samsung Life Insurance. Because he joined the team as a coach. In that way, coach Lee Mi-sun stayed with the team until the 2021-2022 season.
But last season, I couldn’t see this coach. The reason was ‘maternity leave’. And this off-season, he joined the team again and added energy.
Coach Lee, who has returned, said, “Actually, I haven’t been there for a season, but there is nothing awkward about it. It seems that the coach and the players are all the same. (Laughs) Everyone just acts like the person who was there yesterday. So I think I will be able to adapt more quickly,” he started the interview.
He continued, “I think people need to experience it firsthand to know. When I give birth to a child, I will understand the heart of a real mother. Now, I want to give that heart to the players as well. (Laughter) I will warm her mother’s heart. It is my greatest strength.”
Although on maternity leave, the coach did not let go of basketball. “I was at home last season, but I studied a lot. While watching the game, I studied various things such as the strengths and weaknesses of the players, what worked well, and what did not. Also, I watched a lot of other teams’ games. I also wanted to come back and be a source of strength, and personally it was so much fun to do such a thing.”

And I missed the players last season too. I went to watch a game during the playoffs. At the time, I met (Bae) Hye-yoon, and it seemed very difficult. On the one hand, I was sorry that I couldn’t be of any help there. So I wanted to come back quickly and be a source of strength.”
There was joy and anticipation, but there was also worry. It was a concern about parenting. Coach Lee said, “To be honest, I also worry about my house. It is good for the child to be looked after by the mother. She wants to get off work quickly and see her child. (Laughter) Now I understand the feelings of working mothers.”
Also, regarding Kang Yoo-rim (175cm, F), who won the Skill Development Award last season, Coach Lee said, “I have really grown a lot. surprised. To be honest, I was a hard-working player, so I had high expectations. However, with Kiana coming in, more opportunities came and she took advantage of them.
