 Kim Min-soo (31, KT), who was reborn as KT’s winning team two years ago, suffered an ankle fracture during training in the second group and was out for the season. 

KT coach Lee Gang-cheol met with reporters ahead of the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League season 14 match against Doosan held at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul on the 16th and reported the news of Kim Min-soo’s surgery. 

Director Lee said, “I heard that Kim Min-soo broke his ankle and underwent surgery the day before yesterday. When Park Young-hyun went to the Asian Games, I tried to use him as a substitute, but there was no substitute. He said he was injured while running,” he sighed. 

According to KT officials, Min-soo Kim broke his left outer peach bone during Futures training in Iksan, Jeonbuk, where the 2nd Army camp was set up on the 10th. Kim Min-soo successfully completed surgery at an orthopedic surgery in Seoul on the 14th, and it will take about 3 months or more until his return. season is out 

Kim Min-soo graduated from Sungkyunkwan University and was nominated in the 2nd special 11th place by KT in the 2015 rookie draft. He wasn’t a well-known player at the beginning of his career. He spent more time in the 2nd team than the 1st team for 4 years from 2015, and even when he was in the 1st team, he was mainly in charge of dirty work such as the losing group, pursuit group, and long relief. After his debut until the 2018 season, his performance was 24 games, 1 loss, 1 save and 1 hold with an ERA of 6.12.

Kim Min-soo became a completely different player after Lee Kang-chul took over as coach in the 2019 season. He finally revealed his presence with an average ERA of 4.96 with 8 wins, 5 losses, 2 saves and 1 hold in 28 games, and he accumulated valuable experience through various trials and errors while going back and forth between starting and bullpen for two years. And in the 2021 season, 56 matches, 4 wins, 2 losses, and an average ERA of 2.95 in 11 holds, it was reborn as a winning group for the combined championship.
